A Day in the Lifestyle – December

Hello! Welcome to another typical day of our life. Today, I am sharing an awesome recipe for a cinnamon breakfast cake and the most amazing hot tea ever – seriously, EVER! As always, I love that you are sharing our day with us!

Morning Routine: Sarah Beth has uploaded a great flexibility yoga video this week – you should check it out! I also thought I would share a few products from my morning makeup routine that have been working really well for me the last few months. The first thing I use every morning is this Makeup For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Redness Correcting Primer. Some of you may remember the awful sunburns we had after our little excursion down the Loup River in July. It was so bad. I had to use this under my makeup just to get the makeup to stay on my skin at all because it was so burned. I have found that even though the redness has (obviously) subsided in the last five months, I really like how this primes my skin for my CC cream, so I still use it every day. Speaking of CC cream, you may have heard of this one, as it’s become somewhat of a cult classic the last year. I love, love, love the Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream by It Cosmetics. Best foundation I’ve ever used.

Also trying to get as much use out of my holiday sweater as possible. I love my holiday sweater! If you need one, you can still grab some of these in time for Christmas if you use Amazon prime.

Breakfast: We had this cinnamon cake for breakfast. It has a gooey brown sugar center that I really think you will enjoy.

Tea: Dan and I took a little trip out to It’s All About Bees – one of my favorite local spots. We didn’t plan to buy tea. We planned to just buy some honey because we ran out this week and – slight confession – I am a little high maintenance about honey. However, they offered us a sample of Sonoma Mulled Zin Hot Tea and we were sold. It’s amazing. We brewed some today with their Gingerbread Honey and it was heaven. The kids loved it, too! I think we may have found a new holiday staple!

Family Time: We watched a family Christmas movie: Holiday in Handcuffs. It’s pretty cheesy, but we love it. It’s a tradition. Our cable provider has it On Demand right now, so if you can, check it out. You can also order from Amazon.

Evening Routine: For our reading time this evening, we did some reading under the Christmas Tree.

We are currently reading The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. I’ve read it every year since fourth grade and now I read it to my kids every year!

And that’s it for today! We hope you also had a blessed day. Feel free to share any thoughts or comments. Wishing you all well, my friends!
