A Day in the Lifestyle – December

Hello! And welcome to another typical day in our life. Today, I am sharing some amazing soup recipes and a new book recommendation, among a few other fun things.

Morning Routine: First of all, I highly recommend Sarah Beth’s new yoga video for this week, which you can find here. I’ve also been using Rose Absolute First Serum by Aromatica as part of my morning and evening skin care routines and I am super impressed. One other thing to mention – sunscreen. I hate to admit that I have only recently been paying attention to sunscreen as much as I should have been for decades. Right now, I am using Coola Mineral Sun Silk Creme and really like it. It’s 70% organic and just feels great on my skin. Highly recommend both of these.

Stitch Fix: I am not a fan of pictures of myself. Not in the least. The only reason I’m sharing the one below is because I used a Snapchat filter with reindeer horns. Anyway, I wanted to share a couple of my favorite pieces out of my latest box. The Ellie Pearl Detail Blouse is from Karl Lagerfeld and the pink blazer is from Skies are Blue. Also, take a look at those earrings. They are not from Stitch Fix. They are from Style Dots and I absolutely love them. Dan got them for me for Christmas and even my teenage girls think they are adorable. Check out my Boutique Partner’s website because they have some great offerings!

Tea: I know I am always blathering on about the Tea Smith (for good reason). You may remember the other day when I was raving about their Lavender iced tea. But then, it dawned on me that I could just buy the loose tea and make it at home! So of course, I had to. And now I’m in heaven because I get to just drink lavender iced tea all day.

Breakfast: I made homemade sugar donuts. My family gave them A+ rating, so you should check them out. Super easy to make.

Lunch: It’s cold out! And cold means SOUP! I made a Simple Everyday Chili and a Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup. Both were excellent.

Shopping: Confession: I have a problem with having Christmas candles and soaps out after Christmas. I’ll leave the decorations and the tree up until New Years Day, but the hand soaps and the candles have to be switched out immediately on the 26th. I don’t know why it bothers me so much, but it does. So, I didn’t have any winter candles – I only bought Christmas ones, I guess? I don’t know. Anyway, Bath & Body Works is having their semi-annual sale, so I snagged a few winter candles for a very small price. Being honest, that Paris one almost didn’t make the cut with the wreaths and bows still going on, but it smells like coffee and is called Paris, so…I’ll just turn it around…or something.

Supper: I made Our Favorite Meatloaf and the Best Instant Pot Mashed Potatoes Ever. Both fairly easy and super tasty – you can thank me later.

Evening Routine: Again, I can’t encourage you enough to make reading a part of your evening routine. I have recently finalized my 2020 TBR List, so if you’re looking for some reading suggestions, you can check that out. Currently, I’m reading Bitch: In Praise of Difficult Women by Elizabeth Wurtzel. In all honesty, I love the premise, but the actual reading is pretty slow going right now.

And that’s a wrap on our day! Please feel free to share any thoughts or feedback, as I still have a lot of work to do on this site.

Have a beautiful day, my friends.
