Mulled Cider

Ingredients

  • 1 gallon fresh apple cider
  • 2-3 anise stars
  • 4-5 cinnamon sticks
  • 1-2 tsp. whole cloves
  • 1 orange, sliced (I actually used clementines for this batch)

Pour cider in the crock pot. Add in remaining ingredients.

Cook on high for four hours.

I serve mine directly from the crock pot with a ladle, but some people prefer to strain theirs into a punch bowl. Be mindful that it will be really hot. I really advise leaving it in the crockpot and using a slotted spoon to remove the spices, if desired.
