Burlap Bows

I made some of these adorable burlap bows the other day and thought it would be fun to share with all of you how easy they are!

Tools needed: roll of burlap, scissors, tape measure, and hot glue gun (and glue sticks).

First, you will need four lengths of burlap. Please note the roll in the background, similar to a roll of ribbon. I didn’t use wired burlap, but you can (and it may hold shape better – it’s up to you).

Cut two 18″ pieces, one 15″ piece, and one 4″ piece.

Glue one 18″ piece and the 15″ piece into circles, as shown in the photo.

Layer them on top of each other, as shown, gluing down the middle.

Then, accordion fold the middle, so it looks like bow creases.

GLUE. You will need quite a bit of hot glue and you will need to hold this for a bit for to get the folds to stay. I may have burned the ever-loving heck out of my fingers doing this, so be careful.

Then, take the 4″ piece and tri-fold it, as shown.

Take the other 18″ piece (the tail) and position it as shown in the photo above (the one with the accordion folds). Wrap the 4″ piece lengthwise around both the bow and the tail, so it holds everything together.

Again, you will need to hold it in place until it dries a bit. And there you go! Adorable burlap bows. These can be used to make your gifts look super cute. They also make great accents for wreaths or other DIY decor.
