A Day in the Lifestyle – August

Hello! Welcome to another beautiful day in our life. Thank you so much for sharing your day with us!

Morning Routine: You can read my full morning routine here. My morning routine and yoga are still coming from 8fit and I still can’t be more thrilled with this program. The only problem with it at all is that sometimes I’m not disciplined enough to follow the meal plan exactly because I love food too much. But that’s just me.

A quick recommendation if make-up is part of your morning routine: Recently, I tried out this KVD Vegan Beauty Tattoo Liner. I have to say it is wonderful eyeliner, so I highly recommend it….but. The honest truth is my eyes are too big for eyeliner, and this made them look even bigger. While that’s the whole point of wearing eyeliner, my eyes shouldn’t be any bigger. So, I handed it over to my daughter. She was absolutely thrilled and was showing off perfectly winged eyeliner moments later. So, again, it’s a great eyeliner, we highly recommend, but I just can’t wear it.

Breakfast: We have had the same smoothie all week for breakfast. It’s super healthy and super easy to make. For two servings, just throw the following in your blender: a banana, a couple handfuls of spinach, some chia seeds, two cups of almond milk, a handful or two of blueberries, some frozen mango cubes, and about a tablespoon of protein powder (optional). Blend it up and serve.

Tea: We have been drinking Mango Lemon Sunshine Fruit Tisane, Pink Lemonade Rooibos, and Mediterranean Countryside Herbal Tea.

Shopping: I picked up this beautiful multi-colored floral arrangment for the table.

Have you tried out Hunt a Killer yet?? Oh my goodness. I have seen so many ads for this that, to be honest, I was getting a little annoyed. And then the ads worked because I started thinking that this might be a really fun family activity. And guess what? I was right!

We just finished our first episode and it was so much fun. Highly recommend.

Lunch: We have been eating so many salads. This week, I frequently just made a quick salad out of spinach, tomatoes, and cannellini beans. Dan tops his with Ranch, but for mine, I just make a quick dressing from olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.

Snacks: Our new Almond Delight cookie has been at the top of our snack list this week. I really didn’t expect it to turn out so darn yummy. (This is why I have to drink smoothies and eat salads most of the time…). We’ve also been eating our Salted Caramel cookies. You really should try these out. Just message us through our Facebook page if you’re local.

We really enjoy peach season around here. It’s one of my favorite fruits to cook with, so we also made a really good peach cobbler the other night, as well.

Drinks: It’s National Lemonade Day! I highly recommend trying out our Strawberry Lemonade. It’s so good (and it’s free today – FYI)!

Supper:

Monday: I made a Cheesy Ham Bake from one of my old recipe books. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great, either.

Tuesday: It was National Fajita Day! I made Chicken Fajitas and Spanish Rice.

Wednesday: We got takeout from Buffalo Wild Wings. It was last minute. Whoopsie. I had a really yummy quinoa salad planned and I’m guessing my family is incredibly disappointed that they had BWW instead. Sorry, family.

Family Time: We are still occasionally trying to do the Nebraska Passport, but just haven’t had as much time as we had planned. I will update the Two Blondes website as soon as I have time!

We have also introduced Bizi to the fun that is MONOPOLY! My mom got me the Friends edition for my birthday, and Dan suggested that we play it for family game night. Didn’t have to ask me twice! Our first game has actually lasted for three evenings, but I’m guessing it will finish up tonight, as one of us (ahem, me) has a strong lead.

Most importantly, Ysabel and Joey are off to college! We are so proud of them and so excited to see what their futures hold!

Evening Routine: You can read my full evening routine here.

I occasionally use sheet masks as part of my evening skincare routine, and I’d like to recommend this Vitamin C sheet mask from Rael. I used it the other night and absolutely loved it!

Regarding evening reading, I finished up The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. One of my top five favorites of all time. So well-written.

I’m currently reading Daisy Jones and the Six, which is also by Jenkins Reid. This is one is good. Not quite as good as The Seven Husbands, but very good. I’ll likely finish this one up this evening or tomorrow.

The Last Word: If (unlike me), you don’t want to have the same smoothie for breakfast all week, but you still want to eat healthy and plan ahead, here’s how to meal prep a week’s worth of breakfasts.

Also, if you’re wondering what’s up with the whole Tiger King trainwreck lately, well, here’s what’s going on with the zoo….

And that’s a wrap, my friends! Thanks so much for sharing your day with us!
