A Day in the Lifestyle – June

Hello! And welcome to another beautiful day! So glad you could join me today!

Morning Routine: You can check out my full morning routine here.

This morning, I did an 8fit workout and also used 8fit for yoga. I then used the Oak app for a short guided breathing exercise.

Breakfast: I ordered a bunch of peaches with our last grocery order, so we’ve been enjoying those. Peaches and cream (diced peaches in a bowl, topped with heavy cream and a teaspoon of sugar) is a family favorite. I also made peach donuts and peanut butter baked oatmeal.

Peach donuts

Tea: I have new summer teas! We have been drinking Summer Companion black tea, Caribbean Punch tisane, and Raspberry Mint Melody Herbal Tea. All from the Tea Smith.

Shopping: The girls take turns doing their clothes shopping, which makes it easier on me because I only have to take one at a time. This month was Bizi’s turn. Basically, she bought my old ’90s clothes. I kid you not. I haven’t seen so many sunflowers since 1994.

We also made a stop at The Bubbly Tart, another one of my favorite local bakeries.

Supper:

Monday: Sweet Potato and Quinoa Soup

Tuesday: Cuban Chicken and Black Bean Quinoa Bowls with Fried Bananas

Wednesday: Chicken Salad Wraps

Thursday: Leftovers

Friday: Vegetable Gazpacho

Saturday: Patty Melts and French Fries

Sunday: Leftovers

Family Time: This weekend, we visited Arbor Day Farm, where we enjoyed the Tree Adventure and some wine at Apple House Market. We also ate some excellent BBQ at Porter’s, which is located right next to the market.

We also stopped in at Whiskey Run Creek Vineyard down in Brownsville, NE. This is one of our favorite vineyards.

Finally, we popped in over at Auburn, NE to see the Honeybees in the Heartland, which are displayed in different spots all over town!

More on these weekend adventures will be up on Two Blondes in the Heartland if I ever get a chance! Lord, we have been busy.

Evening Routine: You can read my full evening routine here. As for evening reading, I finished The Girl You Left Behind and One Plus One, both by Jojo Moyes. I have just started Paris for One and Other Stories, also by Jojo Moyes.

The Last Word: We’ve been trying our hand at gardening – my tomato plant has one little tomato on it and I’m so excited! I also have mint and basil. And well, that’s it. But it’s getting there. In learning about gardening, I have been reading about composting. If you would also like to learn a little more about composting, check out The Beginner’s Guide to Indoor Composting.

I also found this handy guide to choosing a good avocado. If you eat avo toast like I eat avo toast, you should probably check it out.

And that’s all, my friends! I hope everyone is having a beautiful day!
