A Day in the Lifestyle – March

Morning Routine: I have been brushing my teeth with homemade toothpaste for about three weeks now, and I love it! I wasn’t sure I was going to like it, but it’s amazing. My teeth feel so clean! It’s also super frugal to make your own products when possible, so check this one out!

Another thing I absolutely have to share is this new daytime moisturizer. I know I talk about moisturizer a lot. I also know that in my last post, I said I was going to go back to using Coola, which is still a great option, but then the other day, this Hey Honey Relax Propolis & Honey Soothing Cream showed up. I am in heaven. Absolutely hands down the best daytime moisturizer I have ever used. It is super soothing and smells amazing!

I did not work out this morning. I didn’t at all. No yoga. No run. I didn’t even do a morning meditation. I actually slept in. Sorry.

Breakfast: Dan and the kids had the same scrambled egg dish that I mentioned last time, but I’ve been leaning more toward something a little lighter. I toasted two slices of whole grain bread, spread each with goat cheese, sliced up a tomato and layered that on top, and then topped it off with a bit of fresh sliced basil, olive oil, salt and pepper.

Shopping: We are staying as close to home as possible, folks. We went to Sam’s club, Aldi and Walmart last Thursday evening and got what we would reasonably need if our family were to quarantine. I organized all that in our storage pantry and deep freeze – out of sight, out of mind so we don’t use any of it. I then put in our regular grocery shopping order online yesterday, as I do every Saturday. The only extra shopping I did earlier this week was to get some cute spring decor items that I will share once I actually do some spring decorating.

I also hit up the library. If I end up getting stuck in the house, I need lots of reading material.

Snacks: Lucky Charms Treats are a yearly tradition around here, so Bizi and I made some of these today.

Supper: I had some frozen chicken thighs that I grabbed on sale at Aldi, so I made a simple Chicken & Veggies crockpot meal.

Evening Routine: Currently, I’m reading The Girl Who Played with Fire by Stieg Larsson. I know I’m a little late to the party in regards to the Millenium series, but so far, I’m enjoying it. I’m reading other things in between each book, but plan to have the series finished this year.

Also, Dan and I enjoyed some face masks this evening. Dan claims he did not enjoy, but….you can be the judge of that (yes, I got his permission to share this picture).

Dan’s is a balancing mask from Apto Skincare. I used a Pore Glow Mask from JJ Young. They were okay – nothing I will buy again, but fun to try.

We also had some of our favorite cheap wine to tie into our little spa theme. Winking Owl Moscato is available at your local Aldi for a whopping $2.49.

And that’s it! As always, thank you for joining us as we enjoyed our beautiful day. Feel free to share any thoughts or comments below.
