A Day in the Lifestyle – May

Hello! Welcome to another beautiful day in my life! I have lots of adorable things to share today!

Morning Routine: You can view my full morning routine here. This morning, I did a quick workout using 8fit. I then used this video for yoga.

I also wanted to mention a great new primer I’m trying out. I’ve been using Milk Makeup’s Hydro Grip Primer and I highly recommend. When it says grip, it means grip. If this had a color corrector, I would definitely make the switch permanently.

Breakfast: I have a couple great breakfast ideas to share with you. The first is this excellent Banana Oat Breakfast Smoothie. The other is just a quick reminder that a bowl of fresh fruit topped with heavy cream and, if desired, a little bit of sugar, makes a delicious summer breakfast.

Coffee: We have been enjoying a few different varieties of Prairie Fire coffee that we picked up at SpecialTea.

Tea: This week, I brewed Sparkling Strawberry Wine Fruit Tisane from the Tea Smith. This is one of the family favorites.

Homemaking: We had some oranges that were on the verge of going bad, so I made a quick simmer pot. I sliced 4-5 oranges, splashed in a tablespoon or two of vanilla and threw in four cinnamon sticks. I put all of this in a saucepan and added just enough water to cover it all. I then brought it to a boil, reduced the heat to low, and let it simmer all day. The family states it was the best smelling simmer pot I’ve ever made, so you really should try it out! Simmer pots are a really great way to get some use out of fruits and flowers that are past their prime.

Snacks: I made this Family Reunion Peach Salad. This can be used as a side dish, as well, but Dan wanted to just eat it as a snack, so that’s what he did.

Drinks: Monday was National Wine Day, so we enjoyed a glass (or two!) of Pitch Black.

We also enjoyed Peanut Butter Root Beer Cocktails.

Projects: I turned a chunky basket I made into a quick gift basket.

I also made these burlap bows.

Supper: This week, we had chili with cornbread, Crockpot Lentil Veggie Stew, and Crockpot Country Meatballs with homemade biscuits. I served the meatballs with green beans and an easy fruit salad.

Evening reading: You can read my full evening routine here. As for what I’m reading, I finished Night Music by Jojo Moyes (four stars on Goodreads) and started The Last Letter from Your Lover, also by Jojo Moyes, which I am really liking so far.

And that’s a wrap, my friends. I hope you enjoyed our day as much as we did! Have a beautiful day.
