A Day in the Lifestyle – September

Hello! And welcome to another typical day in my life. So glad you could join me today!

Morning Routine: You can read my full morning routine here. I’ve been using this Boost It Up Moisturizer from Hey Honey and it’s great, so I recommend trying it out.

Breakfast: Scrambled eggs, egg and cheese English muffins, and yogurt, granola and berries have basically been my rut for the last few weeks. Dan and I went to Simply Crepes in Pittsford yesterday and oh my heaven, wow.

Coffee: I haven’t bought a new coffee mug in almost a month. Chalk that up to extreme effort on my part. It’s fall and I still haven’t bought a new mug. Which is honestly only because I went a little overboard on fall mugs last year and I know they are waiting for me in storage.

OMG. In the middle of that rambling, I realized I’m lying.

I just bought this at Dollar Tree the other day. But, in my defense, it has buffalo check. What was I supposed to do? Just leave it there?? Also, it doesn’t count if it’s from Dollar Tree. I mean, it’s a dollar.

Also, I’ve been sipping on that pumpkin spice from Boston’s Blend that I mentioned last week. I had grabbed some to see if it was any good and it is. Soooo good.

Homemaking: I don’t really know if this counts as “homemaking,” per se, but LOOK at this adorable hat I made! I made one for our grandson and one for our great-nephew. You can find the pattern at Ravelry.

Shopping: Speaking of Dollar Tree, I also found this little pumpkin and I was sooooo excited because it had a W on it. I apologize that the picture is so incredibly large. For some reason, I can’t figure out how to adjust it.

Also, has anyone tried these cheeses from Aldi? I was so excited to try them. They were good, but probably won’t buy again. Speaking of Aldi, we have discovered that our Aldi does not have wine, so I can’t get Winking Owl. WHAT?

I also grabbed some fall candles.

Snack: This isn’t really a snack or dessert in itself, but if you love apple pie, you really should check out my post on homemade apple pie filling. There was a little bit left when these five jars were filled. We put it over vanilla ice cream and I highly suggest you give it a try.

Drinks: Beer Lover’s Day was Tuesday, September 7. We went to Stoneyard Brewing Co. in Brockport, NY and shared this lilac wheat. It was really unique and so good.

Family Time: Bizi had her first day of high school this week! She is a freshman this year! I love that New York doesn’t start school until after Labor Day.

We also attended the 9/11 Memorial Event in Penfield yesterday.

Today is National Chocolate Milkshake Day, so we decided to check out Abbott’s, as it has come highly recommended. We approved!

We also ran 2.5 miles on Monday, Thursday, and Friday.

Supper: We had these burrito bowls, which is one of Bizi’s favorite meals. We also did some really easy and low cost meals this week. One of our favorites is penne with pesto right from the jar and sprinkled with fresh parmesan cheese.

Evening Routine: You can read my full evening routine here. I am still using this Watermelon Cleanser and really like it! However, the most important part of my evening skin care routine is still – and will always be – organic unrefined virgin coconut oil. It makes everything come off sooooo much easier. So much gentler on my skin. Then I use the cleanser to wash off the coconut oil, instead of using it to scrub off my makeup.

Evening Reading: Monday was National Read a Book Day!

This week, I read LA Weather, which is the Reese’s Book Club pick for this month, and Still Lives. I think I gave them both four stars. Currently, I’m reading America by Mike Bond, which I’m really enjoying. Much more than I thought I would.

The Last Word: If, like us, you love family game night, check out this one.

Also, a little bit of space news.

And that’s a wrap, friends. Thank you so much for joining me and I hope you have a beautiful day!
