Ingredients:
- 20 oz. package Hurst’s Hambeens Great Northern Beans (I have used great northern and pinto and both have turned out fine, but you need to buy Hambeens to have the ham seasoning)
- 2 c. diced ham (or a meaty ham bone, if you have one in the freezer!)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 carrots, chopped
- 3 celery stalks, sliced
- 2 tsp. dried thyme
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 64 oz. chicken broth
- salt, to taste
Rinse beans and place in crockpot. Set ham seasoning aside.
Add ham, onions, carrots, celery, thyme, pepper, and chicken broth. Stir well.
Cook on high for six hours. Do not open the lid while cooking!
When done, add ham seasoning. You can also add salt, to taste. Stir well and serve.
